Tanjung Kalemo is a small family-run resort built in 2019 by owners Mitchel and Yee Lay at a quiet point near Kambutu village on southern Batudaka Island, reopened in June 2023 after the Covid closure. There are just five simple thatched bungalows (around 20 m², mosquito nets, attached bathroom, terrace facing the sea), and the direct rate — Rp 700,000 per night for a two-person bungalow, Rp 350,000 single — includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests consistently praise the home cooking and the hosts; snorkelling starts off the beach, with healthier reef ten minutes away by boat, plus fishing, canoeing, village visits and rainforest walks behind the resort. Note the practicalities: it is boat-access only (public boat from Ampana most days, about 5–6 hours, or charter from Wakai in about 2), transfers and boat trips are charged separately, payment is cash only, paid public-area wifi runs about Rp 25,000 per 24 hours, and the beach shrinks at high tide in the afternoon.
