The Togean Islands deserve better information
The Togean Islands are one of Indonesia's most beautiful and least documented destinations. A scatter of jungle-covered islands in the Gulf of Tomini, Central Sulawesi — with some of the healthiest reefs in the Coral Triangle, and almost no reliable information about how to get there.
What exists online is scattered across forum threads and decade-old blog posts. Ferry schedules contradict each other. Resorts appear and disappear. Prices are years out of date. Travellers arrive in Ampana with a plan built on guesswork.
Togean.com exists to fix that: verified transport schedules, a complete directory of every place to stay in the archipelago, and honest guides written by people who actually live here.

How we verify information
We live and work in the islands year-round. Schedules and prices are checked on the ground — by taking the boats, calling the operators, and asking the people who run them. Every guide shows a last-updated date, so you know how fresh the information is. And when something is uncertain — a ferry that sometimes doesn't sail, a price that varies by season — we say so, instead of pretending otherwise.
Togean.com is maintained by the team behind Reconnect, a resort on Buka Buka Island, together with input from operators across the archipelago.
If you spot something out of date, tell us — corrections from travellers and operators are how this site stays accurate.
